To install : download > unzip > start the Uniform server >open browser, type "localhost"as the address > login as admin/root and voilà!
I was giving a Dokeos training last week when the network collapsed. My hands-on workshop was quite compromised as I was not able to have my 12 trainers practice on Dokeos free campus.
Happily I had brought with me 12 CDs of a few softwares including Dokeos portable. In less than 15 minutes, everybody had installed his own copy of Dokeos locally, started the Uniform server and we were able to go on.
Dokeos portable is an open source software built by Furio Petrossi, a key member of the Dokeos community. Furio built and documented his package so as to allow others create other builds and package their own version of Dokeos portable. For instance to upgrade the package to the next release of Dokeos FREE, demo SCORM contents or prepare a local demo.
